He joined up from his law practice and left Canada in late 1916. He was in England before being allowed to go to France. He died at No. 3 CCS from wounds received 24 hours previously. His father, the Honourable George Perry Graham, was briefly leader of the Ontario Liberals and was an MP in the Canadian parliament.
