We had the very great pleasure of organising and lead a tour to the WW1 battlefields at Ypres for the Caledonian Society of London. Located on the Ypres Salient, the tour focussed on the Scottish actions of Third Ypres that culminated during the attack at Passendale in November. We visited sights associated with attacks by 9th (Scottish), 15th (Scottish) and 51st (Highland) Divisions during 1917 as well as some stops to place all actions in their context. Our group gained an insight into the battles, the men and how they are commemorated, honoured and remembered. We feel a great weekend was experienced by our group.
